6 kilometres is the average distance that people in the developing world walk for water — water that is often contaminated with life-threatening diseases. On Saturday, May 19th, 2018, thousands of participants from around the globe will walk or run 6k to bring life-changing clean water to communities in need. All the money raised goes towards our work providing better access to water, sanitation and health to communities around the world, so when you participate in the Global 6K for Water you take that 6K distance away from people in need.

There’s two ways you can get involved…

Host an event!

Do you want to bring a group together to walk or run 6K? If you’re joining forces with your family, friends, church, or school, then we'll equip you with everything you need, from planning guides and t-shirts to signage and event-day materials for an amazing experience for everyone!

Take part in an event!

Take part as a participant! When you participate in the Global 6K for Water, you can be a part of transformation around the world. Whether you join a local event or go it alone, we will give you everything you need to get going.
