The fourth KWS Barra 10K will be held on Saturday the 25th of May 2019. This is a challenging cross country trail run over the Barra Hill and we are looking to build on the success of what was a fantastic event last year.

Active Schools will again be organising junior races prior to the 10K. For more information and entry to these races see HERE.

We have been fortunate to have the support of many local businesses who are sponsoring this event. All monies raised from this 10K will go directly to the families in need of support.

The 10K route consists of 2K road then 3K cross country and then 5K road. (route map)

The start and finish is at Oldmeldrum Academy leading on to the fields at the foot of the Barra Hill. At this point, you will enter the cross country section of the course where extra caution must be taken as you will be running on uneven ground.

The climb to the summit of Barra Hill is about 1km and from there you will enjoy panoramic views of Aberdeenshire. The route then takes you onto the Bourtie Road for a fast, downhill second half road section of the course as you wind back into Oldmeldrum.

The entire route will be well signed and heavily marshalled.
