Team categories

Male Open, Male Vet, Female Open, Female Vet, Junior (age 14-18. Juniors must be 15 by 31/12/2021), Mixed Open (min. one female), Mixed Vet

Mixed age category teams will be classed as 'Open'. To be classified as a Vets team all three members must be aged over 40 on race day.

ALL teams will register at a standard rate. If you are a BTF member, bring your BTF license to registration and you will receive a £3 refund

ENTRY £129 PER TEAM + booking fee

An administration fee of £5 per team will be applied to each order by our online entry system partner, Results Base.

Facilities

The venue has changing facilities, toilets, hot showers and a café.

Race description

Each team consists of three competitors, who complete the course as follows: team member No. 1 will take part in the mass swim start, followed by the 18.5km cycle, and the 3.8km run before handing over to team member No. 2 who follows the same course and then hands over to team member No. 3. The team’s time will be calculated as team member No. 3 finishes the course. Chip timing will give each competitor their own split times, with one chip per athlete, to be securely fastened around the left ankle.

There is no limit to the number of teams per club, but each team must be individually detailed. Changes to team members with full emergency/medical details MUST be completed by the end of the day on Friday 27^th August via the Results Base website. Detailed information is available on the website to help with this process. This is crucial to ensure we have all emergency contact information and to ensure team information and classifications can be finalised. Team changes made after this time may not be eligible for category prizes or recorded correctly in the results. Cancellations may be refunded if Horsham Amphibians are contacted up to two weeks before race day and a replacement team can be found. Entries cannot be carried forward to the following year. Final Finishers

At around 10:45am all remaining third leg competitors who have not yet started their race will be set off from the holding pen, regardless of the position of their number two teammate. THIS WILL NOT IMPACT FINAL TEAM TIMES as these will be calculated and added up in the usual way. Horsham Amphibians are introducing this change as we want everyone to have a good race experience and avoid imposing cut-off times. Hopefully this will also enhance the race experience for our slower competitors as they will avoid a long wait in the holding pen!

Horsham District Council in partnership with Southwater Watersports Centre maintains supervision of Cripplegate Lake and the surrounding area but as a large body of untreated water hosting a range of wildlife, factors beyond the Council’s control may create an unsuitable environment for watersports. In such circumstances the Council reserves the right to close the lake to watersports activities. The lake water can also have varying bacterial levels which cannot be controlled and so people who take part in watersports at the lake should, therefore, be aware of the inherent risks associated with inland open water such as Leptospirosis (Weil’s disease) and neither the Council, Southwater Watersports nor Horsham Amphibians Triathlon can be held liable for any ill health resulting from such activity.
