Tissington Trail Half Marathon Day One 2014 ~

Information and registration

Saturday
4 October 2014

The race returns for a third year in 2014 after establishing itself as a real favourite half marathon for those who have taken part. The race has sold out quickly in both previous years and is expected once again to sell out well before race day.

The race attracts rave reviews for the scenery and the slight downhill nature of the course, which helps ensure fast times. We're proud that the race featured in the Runners World top 10 UK trail races in 2013.

The Tissington Trail, the site of a former railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton, runs along a 13 mile route from Ashbourne in Derbyshire. Surrounded by beautiful countryside the traffic-free trail is ideal for a cracking half marathon and, because the route is slightly downhill all the way, you've got gravity on your side virtually the whole way down the course!

This will be a rare opportunity to run a half marathon in Derbyshire without hills!

The race is a point to point race with runners having the opportunity to either make their own arrangements for transport to the start; alternatively a bus service will take participants to the start of the race and you then are able to finish where you park. The race has a strict entry limit and early entry is required to secure your place.

Chip timing, quality bespoke medal to all finishers - plus well stocked aid stations and finish line goodies!

Commemorative finishers technical shirt available to purchase

Suitable for experienced runners but also a great introduction to the half marathon distance for runners of all abilities.
