Back by popular demand TLS Events Ltd are staging the Rother Valley open water triathlons again in 2016. We are looking to create a festival atmosphere over the two days and support every aspect of the sport, grass roots upwards, involving everyone from kids through to experienced seniors.

The Swim
The swim leg of the event will take place in the fantastic water sports area of Rother Valley Country Park. Following a simple course relatively close the lake edge will ensure all athletes will feel comfortable taking the plunge!. Safety cover will be paramount and the experienced water sports team will ensure everyone gets around the course safely.
The Bike
The bike leg for the juniors will be held entirely on closed roads inside the park so will be ideal for newbies tackling their first triathlon.
The Sprint and Standard athletes however take on a challenging route around the local Derbyshire and Yorkshire roads. The course has a few short sharp climbs but equally some good descents and fast stretches. Derbyshire police and all local councils have given the green light again and offered us fantastic support to make every ones ride as safe and enjoyable as possible. The event follows the full rules and guidelines of Triathlon England and is a non-drafting event.
The Run
Save a little bit on the bike for the final run legs of each event. The final run section will be held on the well-known flat and fast Rother Valley lake loop. After exiting the transition area you will be guaranteed fantastic crowd support and after running the final distances be welcomed back to the finish line.
Location
Rother Valley Country Park is situated in the borough of Rotherham close to Sheffield and Derbyshire. It covers 740 acres, has four artificial lakes and supports many recreational activities and nature reserves. It is well known for supporting multi-sport events and has many purpose built walking, cycling and water sport activities throughout the year.
Directions
We advise you not to use a satnav for Rother Valley as it takes you to a nearby industrial estate!
From M1 junction 31 take the A57 towards Sheffield, at the roundabout take the A618 towards Mansfield, Wales Bar and Clowne, at the traffic lights go straight on and the park entrance is at the bottom of the hill on the right.
It will be clearly signposted on the day.
