The 2017 Stirling Duathlon will comprise of 4 events; the Scottish National Duathlon Championship (which is a standard distance event), the Scottish Student Triathlon (SST) Duathlon Championships (which shares our sprint distance event), our Sprint Distance Event and our Junior Event which has varied distances depending on age groups.
The Stirling Duathlon takes in some of Scotland's most picturesque scenery, with the run for each race starting under the shadow of the Wallace Monument, within the grounds of Stirling University.

The Scottish National Duathlon Championships and the Scottish Student Triathlon (SST) Duathlon Championships are hosted by The Stirling Duathlon and organised by Stirling Triathlon Club, sponsored by Black Wolf Brewery and Stirling Bike Doctor.

The event will have LIVE results via the ResultsBase website and also the Stirling Triathlon website.

Standard Event 

We are proud to be hosting the Scottish Duathlon Championships in 2017.

Adult prize money this year is £400/£200/£100 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male/Female and for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall in both male and female Scottish Championship categories. You must be a current home nations member to be eligible for these prizes.
There are also £25 prizes for fastest cycle and fastest run for both male and female - available to all finishers.
Although not a requirement to enter the race, eligibility for Championship prizes requires that entrants have a home nations membership and race licence. Your licence number will be asked for during the entry process and licences will need to be presented at registration on the day, however you can chose the non-affiliated entry option and pay a small increase to cover insurance on the day.
 
Scottish Student Triathlon (SST) Duathlon Championships 
Note that this will run at the same time as our Sprint event over the same course.

Student prize money is £50, £30, £20 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall in both male and female categories.

Although not a requirement to enter the race, it is advised that entrants have a home nations membership and race licence. Your licence number will be asked for during the entry process and licences will need to be presented at Registration on the day, however you can chose the non-affiliated entry option and pay a small increase to cover insurance on the day.
 
It is however a requirement to possess a valid student card, you will be required to enter your card number during the entry process and present the same card at registration.
 
Sprint Event 
Note that this is neither of the Championship events, but a separate race held on the same day.

Youths (15-16) can enter either the Junior Event or Sprint Distance as described in the BTF Rule Book.

Junior Event
We will again be running a kids duathlon event for ages 8 to 16. The course is appropriate for mountain bikes and road bikes - all traffic free!

Triathlon age groups are based on age at end of the year (e.g. if your 11th birthday is coming up this November then you'll race in the 11-12 age group, even though you'll only be 10 on the day of the race). This ensures that you race against the same people all year.

Due to the time of year and un-predicted weather, there may need to be adjustments to the timings on the day.
 
Please note that the day the race falls on, the clocks go forward 1 hour into Daylight Saving Time.
 
Additional Information
 
Car parking: Car Parking marshals will be present to direct you to the most convenient car-parks, we will advise parking and exiting the venue depending on the duration of your stay so as to avoid interfering with the Senior Race cycle route:
 
Changing: Available in the Gannochy Building (bring a £1 coin for the lockers).
 
First aid: Provided by HART Services Scotland. 
 
Catering: University Sports Café and numerous vending machines.
