Event Information

Start – 19:15pm

Location – The Sands Centre, Carlisle CA1 1JQ

Facilities – Toilets and lockers are available for both male/female. There is ample parking, however it is pay and display. Baggage lay-down area. Refreshments available.

Race Numbers – Race numbers, timing chips, etc will be issued at race registration. If any updates are required to the race information they will appear on the Sport in Action home page.

Registration – 17:30pm to 18:45pm

Course

The route is mainly flat with a couple of short climbs the course will be well signed and main turns will have marshals. The road surfaces are good condition the trail section is also in good condition although please beware of uneven surfaces and roots, etc. Caution should be taken at all turns, paying attention to marshals wherever necessary. The run will finish directly behind the Sands Centre at lamp post No6. Athletes are requested to follow the race director’s instructions and be aware of the dangers of cars and cyclists.

Due to the off-road nature of this event we are unable to get the course officially measured but the distance is approximately 6.1 miles.

Risk Assessment – A full course risk assessment will be on display at the event HQ on race day together with maps of the route, the race permit and the measurement certificate in accordance with UKA rules (Permit No TBA).

Race Safety Briefing – A race briefing will be held at the front of the The Sands Centre at 18:45 prompt before athletes are walked for the 19:15 start at the Cathedral, approximately 800m away.

Prizes

Prize presentation – Prizes for the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Male and Female finishers will take place approximately 20mins after the 3^rd Male or Female competitor has finished. The remaining prizes will be posted out.

Prizes – 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Male & Female. Age Group prizes will be awarded as follows: Male or Female age groups with less than 15 competitors 1^st Place only; Male or Female age groups with 15 or more competitors 1^st and 2^nd place; and Male or Female age groups with 25 or competitors 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd prizes will be awarded.

Any age grouper that finishes in an overall prize position (1^st, 2^nd or 3^rd Male or Female) will receive the overall prize. That age group prize will then roll down to the next person in that age category. The third place prize will not be less than the age group winner.

Up to April 23^rd: UKA Members £13.00, Non UKA Member’s £15.00

After April 23^rd: UKA Members £14.00, Non UKA Member’s £16.00

Please note that during the registration process your British Athletics/UKA membership will be checked and if valid the appropriate discount will be applied. Scottish Athletics and Welsh Athletics members can also obtain the discount by entering their membership number into the appropriate field.

An administration fee of 6% will be applied to each order by our online entry system partner, Results Base.

Withdrawals Policy

Up until April 16^th, 2018 all withdrawals will subject to a 50% charge to cover the costs of processing the entry and refund. After this date no refunds will be given.
