Taking place along side the historic Marston Thrift and Marston Vale Trust’s thriving Rectory Wood is a brand new event, Run Rectory Wood. A challenging but thoroughly enjoyable trail run, in Spring 2019.

Steeped in history, dating back to before the Doomsday book, Marston Thrift is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and Nature Reserve, brimming with wildlife and vegetation. The route encapsulates this, along with stunning views across the whole of Marston Vale.

The course is a mix of grass, woodland trails and hard packed trails.

On the day there are two events to choose from:

10KM Race, with prizes for category winners – ages 14+

5KM Fun Run – open to all!

At least 10% of all entries are donated to The Forest of Marston Vale Trust.

For both events, we’ve introduced the Legacy Hill climb! Starting at Legacy Thrift, the last mile of each lap is an uphill climb. Winding through Rectory Wood and Plunder’s Hill, before leveling off at the finish, this will be timed with special prizes for the winners of each category!

All entrants will receive:

• Finisher’s medal
• Chip timing
• Water on course and at Start/Finish
• Free parking
• Optional SMS of their finish time (£1 charge)

The event is fully licensed and insured by the Association of Running Clubs. ARC members must select the Scottish/Welsh affiliation to gain their discount and UKA members can select the UKA discounted entry option but all must validate their entry when they collect their number on the day.
