“Be The Inspiration” and take on Elgin Rotary Club’s Triple Challenge which includes separate swim, cycle and run events. As an individual you can enter 1,2,or 3 events or as a three person team you would each enter one of the events. Each entrant will be rewarded with a section of our bespoke enamelled medal designed especially for the event. Complete all 3 events and complete the 60mm Diameter Interlocking Design.

The events

SWIM 800m — Saturday 23rd February 2019

Swimming in lanes of up to 5 persons, you will complete your 800m distance, we recommend you use a front stroke style (breast stroke or front crawl) for safety and comfort. The event will be timed for your personal records. You will be required to give indication of time expected to allow placing with similar swimming standard, maximum allocated time slot 1 hour.

  • Moray Leisure Centre Elgin: Noon to 2 pm
  • Lossiemouth Pool: 4 to 5 pm
  • Moray Firth Triathlon Club: private Members only session

CYCLE 50km — Sunday 7th April 2019

Starting at 10:30am at Miltonduff Hall on the edge of Elgin, this 50km route explores some of the quieter roads around Mosstowie, Pluscarden, Dallas and Kellas. The ride has been designed to be challenging yet enjoyable with a mix of climbs, descents and nice long (flatish) sections.

What do I need to enter cycle event?

  1. A roadworthy bike (mountain bikes and hybrids are acceptable)
  2. A recognised cycle helmet

RUN 5 miles — Sunday 2nd June 2019

A 5-mile run with the River Lossie close by, this route will take you past, over and under several bridges historic and modern that provide links over the river. Starting as a fairly flat section in Elgin Cooper Park at 12 noon, heading in an easterly direction past Elgin Cathedral and over the Landshut Bridge, returning to the park before heading westerly via the new cycle path, around Morriston Playing Fields, out at Oldmills, climbing up Jock Inksons Brae and on to Sherrifmill Bridge, returning back down to Oldmills, turning left and gentle climb to the Bow Brig, along to Elgin Academy then down into Morriston before returning along the cycle path to finish at Cooper Park. The route is mainly paths and minor roads which will be open to all users.

Full details of all event routes, timings etc will be posted in due course.

Who can enter?

It is your responsibility to determine if you are fit and healthy to complete your chosen event on event day.

How to enter

You can enter one, two or three of the events - if you enter all three as an individual you will automatically be entered in the Triple Challenge and receive a £5 discount on the total amount (£50 instead of £55).

If you want to enter as a Team sign up a different person for each event and then define these three people as a Team - there's a special question about this.

NOTE: each event will close for entry 24 hours prior to the event.

Age limits

Triple Challenge entrants must be over 16, under 18s must have Parent / Guardian Consent and be entered on an adult profile.

Solo Cycle event entrants must be over 16, under 18s must have Parent / Guardian Consent and be entered on an adult profile.

Solo Run event entrants must be over 15, under 18s must have Parent / Guardian Consent and be entered on an adult profile.

NOTE: By completing an online entry for an entrant under 18, the person completing the entry accepts all the terms and conditions of entry on behalf of the entrant.

Cancellation policy

We are sorry we are unable to give refunds, or facilitate the transfer of entry to another person.

As organisers we will do everything considered reasonably possible to ensure the event proceeds.

Adverse weather conditions, attempt alternative route, reschedule or complete at your own leisure and provide evidence using GPS tracking or similar.
