The Festive Four is a fun competition to promote running in the Bridgend area over the festive period, open to all members from running clubs within the Bridgend County Running League.

With all the normal events curtailed thanks to the current COVID-19 situation we've decided to 'go virtual' for 2020 and the competition is slightly different...

There are four distances in the event, plus we are incorporating the Lions Virtual as an extra (you can choose to enter this as an option during entry to the Festive Four and your time for that will be added to the total for the Festive Four).

To simulate the traditional events the four distances to complete are:

Two 5k runs – to replicate the usual Porthcawl or Maesteg Parkruns and the Nos Galan.

*One 5 mile run - to replicate the usual Hi Tide, Glyn Neath or Old Father Time runs.  The 2020 Portchawl Lions event will be 7k

One 4 mile run – to replicate the Prince of Wales run.

Due to the nature of the traditional event with yellow, green, white and polka dot jerseys and competition being fierce this virtual event will see prizes for everyone.  Each participant will receive a Festive Four buff and a Festive Four Coaster.  Prizes will be distributed through your own running club.

Virtual Race Dates:
2 x 5k runs - you'll need to complete 2 x virtual 5ks and you'll need to do these on 19th and 27th of December or one on either of these dates plus 31st December (to match Nos Galan)
1 x 5 mile run - this is the compulsory Boxing Day run through Porthcawl Lions and their terms and conditions will apply - this year the event will be a 7k
1 x 4 mile run - this will need to be done, as is tradition, on January 1st but we'll allow you anytime from 8am to midday to complete your run.

All times must be submitted with 48 hours of completing the run. ​​​

*Your 7k run must be the Portchcawl Runners / Lions event and you'll receive a link to this when entering.  The entry fee for this event will be payable seperately and the result will be added in for you.
