Due to the uncertainty of COVID restrictions during May, the organising committee have had no choice but to move the date to Sunday August 1st . We apologise for this inconvenience.

Once again the increasingly popular, tried and tested, Little Lumpy is back for 2021. Now in its 12th year, we offer you the chance to experience the charms and challenges of the proven designated routes. Setting off again from Haslemere, we take you through the prettiest parts of the Sussex and Hampshire Weald to the South Downs at South Harting where the Challenge and Epic routes branch off to take you over some testing little climbs.

Little Lumpy is a ‘not-for-profit’ event, with monies raised being distributed between Haslemere Festival and an elected partner charity. We are very pleased to announce that 2021’s partner charity is Haslewey Community Centre. Monies from Little Lumpy are to be spent specifically on new disabled doors with power assist mechanisms to all toilet facilities and any money remaining, used to update internal doors with similar mechanisms.

We have three routes to choose from, ranging from 40 to 100 miles - please note those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

As in previous years, you will be able to enjoy the warm welcome and home baked cakes at the feeding stations around the course. This is only possible due to the dedicated group of volunteers and Haslemere bakers, whose efforts seem to have become legendary, with the tempting selection probably the best to be found at any Cycling Sportive throughout the country. In addition, at the start there will be a free breakfast on offer, comprising tea / coffee plus a bacon butty or equivalent vegetarian option. At the finish, the bar will be open and a hot meal will be available at a small price. So stay and linger to enjoy the company of your new-found cycling friends and share your experience of what is one of the top Sportives in the South East of England.

An administration fee of 6% will be applied to each order by our online entry system partner, Results Base.

All routes start and finish at the Woolmer Hill Sports Asociation, Woolmer Hill Road, Haslemere GU27 1QA (see map)

Parking will be signed at the venue (multiple parking areas) and registration will be in the main clubhouse from 7am.

Changing rooms, toilets, showers, hot food and drinks plus mechanical assistance will be available at the start and finish. There are food stops on all the routes with a wide selection of rolls, cakes, bananas etc plus hydration drinks.

Sport: 16 miles (Harting), 30 miles (Lurgashall).

Challenge: 27 miles (Chalton), 36 miles (Harting), 51 miles (Lurgashall).

Epic: 27 miles (Chalton), 50 miles (Teglease Down), 73 miles (Chalton), 81 miles (Harting), 92 miles (Lurgashall).

Timing and awards

The ride will be chip timed and riders will be graded according to their finish times in the online results. You can also opt to receive an SMS message of your time which will be sent as soon as you complete your ride.
