Conduct

Entry

Due to the nature of the event and the planning involved we do not make refunds or allow entries to be deferred to another year. However, riders are able to transfer their place to another rider via the entry website or by email if there is a cost difference.

Conduct

All riders must ride in an orderly manner in accordance with the Highway Code, not more than two abreast, and extend all reasonable courtesy to other road users. The use of earphones (e.g. MP3, iPod) by participants is not permitted on the grounds of safety when riding. TT bikes are permissible but they’re not recommended and should only be used with great care. Riders should not use the inner bars when drafting or in situations where they may need to brake suddenly. It goes without saying that the event does not wish to be associated with riders who may bring the event in to disrepute by for instance riding selfishly, abusing other road users or dropping litter.

Safety

The event is strictly non-ccompetitive and is organised so that riders can enjoy riding over specified routes, with feed-stations and recovery facilities, within an agreed time. The cut-off for riders is 16:00hrs at Goodwick Moor when they will either be able to return to Crug Glas via the A487 or be recovered by motor vehicle. No rider shall arrange to be followed by a supporting vehicle.

Participants will be responsible for their own bicycle which must be fully roadworthy and safe to ride. The wearing of hard shell helmets conforming to CE standards EN1078 is mandatory for all riders.

All participants under the age of 18 must have a consent form completed by their parent or guardian. Riders under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

All riders are to carry:

A form of identification, showing their name, address and the contact details of a person to be advised in the event of an accident.

Food, drink, money, a mobile phone, spare inner tubes, a working pump, a basic tool kit and any spare clothing, sufficient to complete the ride being undertaken, taking into account the route and possible adverse weather conditions.
