The Beacon Bash is a historical event, formerly organised by the Long Distance Walkers Association. It's just over 20 miles of footpaths and bridleways around the best of West Lancashire's countryside. The course will be marked to some extent but you must navigate using the written road book (provided) or the GPX file, in conjunction with the course markings. The start location is Appley Bridge Scout Hut and you will be allocated a registration and start time prior to the day (it is not a single mass start). There are no refreshments on the route, so you must carry sufficient food and fluid for the full course. At the finish there's hot food, drinks and refreshments for everyone. It's £12 to enter and all proceeds will be split between Appley Bridge Scouts and Skelmersdale Food Bank. The cut off for the full distance is 7 hours.
