(SOLD OUT 2/5/23)
The River Adur 5km Swim is now in its 6th year and with the tide with you all the way it’ll definitely be the quickest 5km you’ll ever swim. The swim has a capacity of 350 and there here two categories, Fin Swim & Swim. The vast majority of competitors now Just Swim unaided, but if you fancy giving the Fin Swim a go, you can wear a pair of fins of your choice to speed your way to finish. Wetsuits are compulsory for all competitors.
We’ll take you by coach to the start, drop you off at high tide and you make your way back to Shoreham-by-Sea on the tide. You’ll have to negotiate the sandbanks & bridges for the quickest route, we guarantee some of you will run aground! The closer you get to Shoreham the tide will pick up through the sandbanks and mussel beds to push you all the way to the finish line.
Competitors will receive a kit backpack, cold drinks and flapjack, silicone swim cap and Protein Balls. Shoreham town centre is conveniently located across the bridge with plenty of bars and restaurants along the river for that perfect post race drink or meal; we might even join you!
2017 competitor feedback:
"Thanks for another really great REP event. As always, it was brilliantly organised and very enjoyable. Perfect weather and a brisk current helped too!"
"Wonderful experience with the 5km swim. Adrenaline was whizzing through the veins, especially the last 10 minutes under the bridges"
