10k and Half Marathon Courses
Both the 10k and Half Marathon routes start on the B974, opposite the first lamp post after the King George V playing field. Runners head south over the River Dee bridge, round the sharp right hand bend and turn right along Blackhall Road. Runners continue on this route until the end of the tarmac. At this point, runners will bear left on to a forestry track.
Just before the 10k runners reach the top of their climb ready to return home, the half marathon runners will bear right and follow a forestry track around the Blackhall Forest eventually joining up with the 10k route once again. The forestry track eventually becomes a tarmac surface again, and at the fork runners will bear right onto the same road as the outward run. They will turn left down the steep steps onto the B974. Runners will then turn right through the playing field gates to the finish in the King George V playing field at the football pitch line.
