EVENT INFORMATION
We are pleased to announce that the 2024 Northumberland Aquabike event has been selected to host a British Triathlon Age Group Qualifier for the 2025 World Standard Distance Aquabike Championships.
If you are looking to qualify for the 2025 World Championship Standard Distance Aquabike, athletes must register their intent to qualify by 5pm on the Friday before the qualifying event. Please click here to register your intent to qualify. No late registrations will count.
The Northumberland Festival of Sport is a successful and established event attracting a wide range of competitors from all abilities. The Festival of Sport has everything for all the Family.
The Northumberland open water swim challenge events are very well suited to beginners and equally attractive to the seasoned open water swimmer. The Children’s triathlon events attract all the range of ages from TriStar Start, TriStar 1, TriStar 2, & TriStar 3. The Aquabike, Aquathlon & Triathlon events are great for beginners and for those who would like to move up from the sprint distance to the standard distance events. The events are competitive, but fun and spectators will be out in force to cheer competitors on, providing a truly amazing atmosphere. An ideal event to add to your multisport calendar!
The swim will take place in the warm shallow freshwater Ladyburn Lake set within the park grounds. The bike route will take you out of the Country Park along a beautiful coastal route and the run will be a multi-lap route on the footpath that winds its way through the woods and meadows that surround the lake.
The Country Park is located right next to the stunning Druridge bay, on a beautiful stretch of Northumberland coastline. The Country Park is a popular place to cycle, run, swim, walk, paddle, surf and is perfect for a fun family weekend.
Please note, all non-BTF athletes will need to purchase a Race Pass from BTF HERE.
Failure to show proof of purchase of your BTF Race Pass on the day will result in you not being able to participant in the event.

The minimum age for the Sprint Distance Aquathlon, Aquabike & Triathlon events is 15 years old on 31st December 2024, and for the Standard Distance Aquathlon, Aquabike & triathlon events is 17 years old on 31st December 2024.
