Glentress Winter Half Marathon & 10k Trail Races
These events are part of a fantastic weekend of early winter trail races in Glentress Forest, located in the beautiful Tweed Valley. Starting with a 21k Trail Half Marathon and 10k distances on the Saturday morning

On Sunday it is the Tweed Valley Ultra, a superb multi terrain ultra which is based around the Tweed Valley forest park with a choice of 65k and 50k distances: details here.

New for 2023: With the new development work in Glentress Forest now in progress, we're implementing some exiting new modifications to the routes. We have some awesome courses lined up.

Glentress Forest is described as the 'Gateway to the Tweed Valley Forest Park'. Perhaps more renowned for its mountain biking, Glentress also offers a superb array of forest trails, making it a fantastic location for trail running. The area features mile upon mile of waymarked trails including forest walks, woodland single track and heather clad moorland.

Glentress 10k Trail Race

Date: Saturday 18th November 2023 Start Time: 1100 (TBC)

The new course climbs 'slightly' higher than previously but the breathtaking views & thrilling descents are certainly worth the effort. With nearly 400m of ascent packed into the initial 6k, this will be quite a challenge!

Glentress 21k Trail Half Marathon

Date: Saturday 18th November 2023 Start Time: 1000 (TBC)

The 21k distance will be exploring further into the more remote parts of the forest. This route will incorporate sections of the Tower Trail and the Black graded BTB route, climbing high to the top of Glentress Forest, offering some stunning panoramic viewpoints. Featuring a fantastic variety of terrain from hard packed gravel trails to twisting forest singletrack this amazing course offers something for everyone.

Location: Glentress Peel visitor centre is in the heart of the Tweed Valley Forest Park between the small Borders towns of Peebles and Innerleithen and just one hour's drive away from Edinburgh.

Venue: Glentress Peel Visitor Centre, near Peebles, EH45 8NB

All routes will be fully marked so no navigation experience is necessary.
