Spectacular Trail Running Based in the Beautiful Scottish Borders.
Glentress Forest is described as the 'Gateway to the Tweed Valley Forest Park'. Perhaps more renowned for its mountain biking, Glentress also offers a superb array of forest trails, making it a fantastic location for trail running. The area features mile upon mile of waymarked trails including forest walks, woodland singletrack and heather clad moorland. A great way to explore all the unique aspects of this stunning forest.
New for 2025: Glentress 4k Gravel Run
This new distance is open to runners from 12, all runners under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
With a choice of four distances there’s something for everyone.
Date: Sunday 16th February 2025 This year all races will take place on the Sunday.

Location: Glentress Peel visitor centre is in the heart of the Tweed Valley Forest Park between the small Borders towns of Peebles and Innerleithen and just one hour's drive away from Edinburgh.

Glentress 42k Trail Marathon
Start Time: 0930 (TBC)
This challenging 42km route comprises two circuits of the 21km course giving 1,500m of ascent. Returning through the finish line after the first circuit this is ideal for family and friends to come along and spectate.

Glentress 21k Trail Half Marathon
Start Time: 1030 (TBC)
The 21k distance will be exploring further into the more remote parts of the forest. This route will incorporate sections of the Tower Trail and the Black graded mtb route, climbing high to the top of Glentress Forest, offering some stunning panoramic viewpoints. Featuring a fantastic variety of terrain from hard packed gravel trails to twisting forest singletrack with 750m of ascent, this amazing course offers something for everyone.

Glentress 10k Trail Race
Start Time: 1100 (TBC)
This will be ideal if you are looking to get into trail running and a great way to explore all the unique aspects of the forest without the more testing climbs. However, with 330m of ascent it’s still a challenging course…not forgetting the exhilarating descent to the finish.
New for 2025: Glentress Gravel Run
Start Time: 1115 (TBC)
A brand new distance for 2025, this will be ideal if you're new to trail running. The distance will be approx. 4km incorporating the Multi-User & Glen Trails. Aimed more at the 'fun' type of runner we'll not be offering prizes for this distance, however you'll still receive a finisher's medal, finish time & position.
The minimum age is 12 years old, all participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the full event.
