Run For The Trees 2025
Originally established as a 'lockdown' challenge back in 2021, Run for the Trees has remained a really popular fixture in the Peak Running calender. So we hope you'll join us this year for what is - remarkably - its FIFTH edition!
It’s a fun personal challenge event for runners and walkers to keep you active during the late winter as the novelty of the new year starts to wear off. Ideal for building a great level of base fitness ahead of your spring/summer adventures. Run for the Trees is a fun and sociable way to get through the often gloomy month of February in style!
It can be completed anywhere in the world and will leave a positive footprint on the environment: the more miles you cover the more new trees will be planted in the National Forest. So it is one of the most carbon positive events around!
How it works:
There are four options to choose from: 3 for humans and 1 for your four-legged friends. Each option has a mileage target for you to aim for during the 28 days of February.
You can cover as few or as many miles/kilometres you like each day, either running, walking or a mixture.
If you achieve your target amount over the 28 days, you'll receive a beautifully crafted wooden coaster and part of your entry fee will go towards planting new trees in the National Forest. Something that provides a fantastic legacy of more green space for our community to enjoy and a positive environmental impact.
The more miles that are covered during the event, the bigger the area of new forest we create.
We’re pleased that the Derby Runner is once again supporting Run for the Trees. All entrants will receive 20% instore and online with proof of entry; https://derbyrunner.co.uk
