The Newark Half Marathon continues as a new, faster and more scenic summer race following its re-launch in 2016. It is limited to 1,500 entrants with a fun run and entertainment for all the family.
The setting is historic Newark with its castle and civil war museum. The race starts in the Sconce and Devon Park, site of civil war battles, passes the Ice Age Journey dig, where our ancestors settled over 13,000 years ago, skirts East Stoke, site of the bloodiest civil battle through Elston, birth place of the Darwin family and where our main sponsor Eden Hall is situated, then back to the Sconce and Devon Park.
The route is flat and fast and mainly on closed roads. A UKA Certificate of Course Accuracy has been issued (18/186) for the event and the UKA Race Licence is 2018-35664.
Entry Fee
Entry for the 2018 race will be £25 with a £2 discount available to British Athletics/UKAA members
Please note that during the registration process your British Athletics/UKA membership will be checked and if valid the appropriate discount will be applied.
An administration fee of 5% will be applied to each order by our online entry system partner, Results Base.
The 2k Fun Run entry is £5 with no booking fee. It is open to all ages but anyone under 11years MUST be accompanied by an adult.
Event Prizes
New this year: the DB Wood Challenge The first male runner to finish in under 66 minutes and the first female to finish in under 76 minutes will receive £500 each, donated by DB Wood.
The organisers feel strongly that prizes for the half marathon should be awarded equally with respect to gender and age category. This recognises age-graded ability and not simply the fastest. See the race website for details of age grade prizes totalling over £1,300.
Our Charities
We are supporting three charities this year: Beaumond House Newark, Newark Mind and Children’s Bereavement Centre Newark.
During the registration process you will have the option to make a donation which we will share equally between the three. Alternatively, if you wish to donate or raise money for a specific charity then please follow these links for information on how to do this:
