Run and Ride 2021
Supporting LauraLynn Children's Hospice
Run and Ride Weekend is just days away and this site has all you need in order to take part.
Over the past six weeks, we've had almost 1,300 people take part in our training plan - if you're one of these dedicated duathletes, you've probably come here to upload your result - just click on the Enter Your Result tab above.
If you're new to the site and are planning to join us in Ireland's largest sporting event this weekend - welcome! All you need to do is register (it takes 2mins) and you're ready to go.
LauraLynn - Our Charity Partner
Run and Ride 2021 is completely free of charge but we do ask that you donate a small fee - or better still fundraise - for LauraLynn Children’s Hospice, which carries out important work in the areas of providing a Community of Care that delivers services to children with palliative care needs, complex care needs, and complex disabilities, while also providing family support services and a home to our residents where quality-of-life is paramount.

Challenges for Everybody
There are two duathlon distances this weekend:
SPRINT DISTANCE: 5km run, a 20km ride, and a 2.5km run – all without stopping!
You must be over the age of 16 to participate in the Sprint Distance event. If you are aged between 16 and 18 and want to participate, you must have your parent or guardian register you.
STANDARD DISTANCE: 10km run, a 40km ride, and a 5km run.
You must be over the age of 18 to participate in the Standard Distance duathlon.
How to Get Started
Click the REGISTER NOW button at the top of this page then select your duathlon distance - it's that simple!
Results
After you complete your duathlon, you'll need to upload your results. There are three main ways;
- Simply enter the time it took you to complete your duathlon and attach an accompanying pic of you getting it done or a pic of your fitbit with the activity visible.
or
- Enter the time it took you to complete your duathlon and paste a link to the completed activities on your Strava, Garmin Connect, or other sports tracking service accounts.
or
- Link this site to your Strava or Garmin account and the time and distance will be automatically uploaded giving a verified time for your duathlon.
Remember, Run and Ride is a participation event, not a competition - taking part and personal achievement is at the core of the programme.
For more detailed information on uploading your result head to the Instructions tab.
Leaderboards
There are separate results for the Starter and Challenger Levels. For both duathlons, the aim is participation and people will be trusted to upload their results honestly - this is a challenge you complete for your own satisfaction. But in the interests of integrity, Triathlon Ireland will reserve the right to remove any result which it deems to be lacking in evidence or athletic history (for instance anyone running sub 35mins for 10km can expect us to check their history to see if this is consistent with past performances).
There's a full list of rules, advice and insurance information in the Rules and Advice section.
COVID-19
Participants are reminded to stay within government advice on COVID-19 at all times when training and when completing your duathlon event.
If you are unsure what this advice is, check out the latest Return to Triathlon update.
