The Blaydon Race 2023

The World-famous Blaydon Race will once again be “gannin alang the Scotswood Road” on the 9th June 2023. After the success of the 2022 Race, we will again be starting on Newcastle Quayside. The exact route and distance will be confirmed nearer the Event after consultation with both Councils & The Police.
All finishers will get a T-shirt, local ale, sandwich and crisps.

We will again be supporting the Metro Radio Cash for Kids Charity.

Cash for Kids is a local charity, and it is their mission to support local children who are disabled, disadvantaged, sick, or suffering from abuse or neglect, from the ages of 0-18. All the funds for the charity are raised locally, and redistributed locally, to individuals, families and other charities dedicated to improving the lives of young people. We are proud to operate an 80% contribution across the UK, with clear visibility on where the money goes and who it is helping. However, at Metro Radio Cash For Kids, our last audit showed that our contribution was much higher, with at least 90 pence in every pound donated going directly to the children we help and support.This year, we hope to support lots more children in the region. Year on year, the need for support for children across the North East is growing. As such, the Cash For Kids targets are increasing. This year, it is our aim to raise over £2.5 million to help local children. Without the support of the public, local businesses, donations and grants from trusts, it would be impossible for us to meet this target and continue our life altering work. With the help and support of The Blaydon Race we can make a difference the lives of local children.
