Batemans 150 Years Firefighters Charity Runs

After the success of our Christmas Rosey Nosey fun runs and the late Queens Platinum Jubilee 5 and 10k runs we have again teamed up with the Firefighters charity and the Crew at Wainfleet fire station.

Helping to celebrate our 150 years of Brewing, we are offering a choice of 5k or 10k distances on routes following the River Steeping into the surrounding picturesque countryside from our world famous brewery in the historic town of Wainfleet in aid of the Firefighters charity.

What to expect

• Both distances are circular routes starting and finishing at the brewery
• Registration on the day at the brewery
• Start Time 11am
• Times will be recorded and posted. Remember this is a charity run.To keep costs down, all runners will be starting at the same time. We know the serious runners amongst you will be starting your timing when you cross the start line!!!
• The new routes avoid the railway crossings!!!!!
• The first 500m will be on a closed road but the remaining will be on open but quiet and fully marshalled roads with clear route signage.
• Keep your eyes peeled. Expect to see a variety of wildlife along the route possibly Muntjac deer, Buzzards and Kites. You may be lucky enough to spot Kingfishers as you return along the banks of the Steeping. Dodge the Peacocks as you come down Vicarage Lane (look for the albino!)
• Spectator friendly finish!! You will return over Salems Bridge before crossing the finish line at the Brewery in Mill Lane. Friends and Family watching will be able to relax in the Brewery Garden having a soft drink or brew and see you approaching. So no waiting for them at the finish line waiting for you to finish!
• All finishers will receive a commemorative medal and a pint of one of our finest Beers.
• The Bar will be open soon after the races finish and there will be live music and hot food available. Spend the afternoon chilling. You would have earned it!
