The ballot system
Because the event always sells through very quickly it has been decided to trial a ballot entry process for 2024 instead of the mad dash for places in the queue.
Application for a ballot place (one place per person) can be made at any time between 9am on Saturday 7th October and 11:59pm on Monday 16th October - there really is no need to rush!
Once the applications are in, a random draw will be made to select the lucky applicants and they will be emailed a special link that they can use to enter the event proper. Again, there will be no need to rush to complete your entry purchase - the entry window will be open between Tuesday 17th October and Friday 20th October (times to be confirmed). Provided you use the link in your email during this timeframe you'll be guaranteed your place.
Those not lucky enough to secure a place will be emailed and if people who have been offered a place don't take it up, the organisers will reallocate these places to the next applicant from the random draw ballot.
Whether you are a keen club runner, doing your first half, or just running for fun, this is the road race for you. A flat and fast course with 1,750 places available. Now in its 41st year.
Follow the Brass Monkey Half Marathon Facebook page for the latest news/updates.
Race instructions and bib numbers will be posted out in advance to the athlete address you provide during registration. If you need to update this information after entry please see these instructions.
Location Facilities - updated for 2024
The race is based at York Racecourse (Google map HERE).
We are pleased to say we will have full use of the Ebor Suite again, with seating, bag drop and toilets available inside.
Parking

Transfers/Refund Policy
Person-to-person transfers of race entries are permitted but must be done following the process set out on the Transfers FAQ page. All online person-to-person transfers must have been completed by midnight on Sunday December 10th. Transfers completed after this date will not be accepted, nor will edited name entries be accepted.
A further window for in-person transfers managed by the event organiser will be available with a final cut-off date of January 14th. Replacement entrants must arrange to get their race number from the original entrant and will be given the original T-shirt size.
Unfortunately entry refunds will not be possible in the event of race cancellation (including COVID-related), as many of the race expenses will have been incurred. We will not be able to roll over entries to subsequent years.
Fees
UKA Affiliated club members: £34*
Non-affiliated runners: £36
Please note that all runners must be 18 or older on the day of the race.
An administration fee of 5% will be applied to each order by our online entry system partner, Results Base.

Scottish Athletics members can also obtain the discount by entering their membership number into the appropriate field at the same point in the registration process.
