Run The World
1st – 30th September
The concept for Run The World is simple: sign up and link your fitness tracking device (Garmin or Strava), then run as many miles as you can in the month of September.
You, along with hundreds of other runners in Leicester and beyond, will be able to track both your personal and collective progress on a live, interactive map, as you make your way 'around the world,' taking part in challenges and themed runs along the way as you go from place to place.
Whether you cover 100 miles or one doesn't matter, what counts is doing your bit to help us make it round the globe!
Given the immense distance that we will aim to cover, visiting all of the world’s most famous cities and iconic landmarks, the route will be broken down into different stages around Europe, Africa, Asia and America!
Throughout the event, you’ll be able to unlock rewards based on your own individual contribution to the mileage total, and join in with themed runs corresponding to how far we’ve run as a collective and where in the world we find ourselves each day. Of course by the very end you will also have earned that all important medal to show off your achievements.
The Leicester community has been hit hard by the latest local lockdown and we hope that everyone will be eager to join forces and come together to Run the World with us in this fantastic team effort.
Please use the links below to keep track of our progress and keep up to date with all the latest challenges on our Facebook page.

How to record your results
In order to maximise your Run The World experience we highly recommend that you link a Strava or Garmin account to your entry. This way all of your run distances will automatically be pulled into the Run The World total without the need to add each run manually. For more detailed instructions on how to record your distances please see this page.
You can, of course, always enter your results manually, either using the tab at the top of the page or directly off your event entry Ticket. To do so simply log-in to your Resultsbase profile, locate your Run The World entry ticket, and choose the 'Add Result' option. To speed up the process you can also use the 'Enter Your Result' tab at the top of this page. Input the 'Edit Code' emailed to you at the start of the event, and then add your run details in manually with either a screenshot or link to an actvity as proof.
Tracking Team Progress
At any given point you will be able to see the entire Run The World Team’s progress live on each of the different stage maps as we progress along the route. Please use the links above to find the live tracking maps for each of the six Run The World stages.
Personal Progress Rewards
Throughout the event you will unlock individual rewards when you hit total milestone distances such as 50km / 100km / 150km etc. These achievements will light up on your ‘My Overview’ page and will award you discounts and other rewards based on how far you’ve run.
Similarly, as the Run The World Team progresses around each stage map, famous cities and iconic landmarks will light up as an achievement on that particular stage map, unlocking new themed runs as we go, posted on our Facebook page.
In early October, after the event has come to a close, we will post out a souvenir ‘Run The World’ medal to the home address of all runners that have contributed to running around the world between 1st – 30th September 2020.
Inter-Club Competition
Alongside the main event we are also giving local clubs the opportunity to compete against one another in a race around Europe on our first stage map. Teams will need to aim to have a minimum of 20 team members however there is no maximum cap. There are two categories for the inter-club competition; the top 25 category, whereby the 25 runners that have run the furthest at any given time will count, and the all runners category, where everyone counts no matter the team size. The inter-club map competition will updated twice weekly and you can use the link above to check out your club's current progress.
Who can enter?
Anyone and everyone is welcome to enter and take part. Whether you can run one mile a week or one hundred, Run The World is for everyone. No-one can achieve this by themselves, so every single mile and kilometre run counts and gets us further on our journey to Run The World! Should you feel like you're missing out, entries will remain open throughout the first half of September.
